MAES Paris x Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc: redefining responsible French luxury
French fine leather goods maison MAES Paris reveals an exceptional collaboration with the legendary Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, a Riviera icon renowned for its timeless elegance. This partnership introduces two exclusive creations — the Sella clutch and the Hippolyte cardholder — both crafted in France using a vegan mycelium biomaterial.
A collaboration rooted in craftsmanship, innovation and Riviera heritage
The collaboration between MAES Paris and the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc was a natural fit, given the perfect alignment of values between the two houses. Sharing a heritage of French refinement and elegance, they both consider exceptional craftsmanship an absolute must. And they also both embrace a contemporary vision of responsible luxury and are committed to using innovative materials to help protect our planet.
Founded by Romain Boubert in 2020, MAES Paris champions an alternative approach to French fine leather goods, offering pieces made exclusively in France, using eco-responsible biomaterials, including mycelium, as well as limited editions in high-quality upcycled leather.
A unique approach which made MAES Paris a pioneer of vegan luxury made in France.
The Sella Clutch: quiet luxury and sustainable innovation

The Sella clutch combines quiet luxury and innovation. Its name pays homage to André Sella, who helped give the estate its modern silhouette from 1914 onwards by building the annex which still overlooks the Mediterranean Sea today.
Its bright white color and its signature Cape Eden Roc Blue accents are made using a vegan biomaterial based on mycelium.
Its elegant flap, which allows the pouch to be closed thanks to invisible magnets, is adorned with the iconic Buoy of Cape Eden-Roc, made of polished stainless steel in the spirit of boat fittings.
The Hippolyte Cardholder: responsible elegance in a compact form
The Hippolyte cardholder captures the spirit of responsible elegance shared by MAES Paris and Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc. It showcases the hotel’s Signature Blue, enhanced with the iconic Buoy emblem.

The name of this second creation celebrates Hippolyte de Villemessant, founder of the French newspaper "Le Figaro" who had the first building constructed of what would later become the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc to allow journalists to find rest and a soothing environment to work.
