FOUNDER
"Trained as an engineer, I have always been curious to understand how things work.
I have been passionnate about leather goods since I met incredible artisans in 2010. I was so touched by their passion and their constant quest for perfection when they were giving life to their creations.
In 2018 I met for the first time with entrepreneurs developping a plant-based alternative to leather. The discussion that followed transformed me, challenging every belief I had on materials and their impact on the environment.
In 2020, convinced that we could do so much better, I decided to start MAES Paris and to offer to those who shared my convictions a new story, one about uniting French traditional craft and innovations preserving our environment."
AESTHETICS
Architecture, design, contemporary art... My sources of inspiration are many.
The shapes are structured, the lines spirited, balance vital. Function is critical and serving elegance, one cannot go without the other.
The "Double M" monogram is often present. It represents as much the MAES name as the French word "Maison" (House) which embodies our artisanal craft, a pillard of our approach, of our philosophy.
