OUR APPROACH

Creating objects made to endure means thinking carefully about every decision behind them.

At MAES, this extends beyond design, craftsmanship and materials to the way they are produced, assembled and transported. Our ambition is not to claim perfection, but to pursue progress with the same exacting standards that guide every object we create.

THOUGHTFUL DECISIONS,

AT EVERY STEP

At MAES, we believe responsibility cannot be reduced to a single material or a single number. It is the result of a succession of thoughtful decisions, from the very first sketch to the finished object.

Choosing one family tannery over another. Selecting a material for its intrinsic qualities rather than for what it represents. Crafting every object in France alongside exceptional artisans. Producing in limited quantities. Measuring our impact to inform the decisions we make tomorrow.

Each of these choices contributes to creating objects that are more considered—made to endure through both their quality and the way they are conceived.

Measuring our carbon footprint is part of that same approach. Not as an end in itself, but as a tool to better understand, measure and continually improve.

Each of these decisions finds
its expression in the object.
